Reviews

"Your face is a book, where men may read strange matters."
- William Shakespeare

This is a post about the new shows I've watched this past show season.

Castle:
A mystery writer follows a police officer because he claims she is his new muse. I only watched the first episode because it was Nathan Fillion, but after the first few minutes I really started to like it for being Castle. It breaks away from the usual genre of detective work because it not only has comedy but it focuses more on... I don't know. Solving the crime to help the people and not just to solve it. I guess that's a pretty lame description but that's what you're gonna get. Oh and the acting is done very well. Okay so maybe some of the characters are flat but they do a good job at what they do. RENEWED!!!!

Cupid:
This show is about a man who believes he is Cupid and he has to make 100 true love matches before he is allowed back on Mount Olympus. I loved the idea of this show, and am very sad it was cancelled. The characters were very loveable especially Trevor (the man who believes he was cupid). Though I can see why it was cancelled. The plot for every show was very predictable. Trevor makes match, match seems perfect, match splits, Trevor saves match and makes them realize it is true love. Though the over all plot ran deeper we will never see it develop.

Bones:
An anthropologist and accompanying lab help the FBI solve murders.
Though I came in at the 5th season I was not completely lost on what was going on. A plus for someone who can't find the rest of the series, though I haven't looked hard. The characters are intriguing and though the story line may becoming a little too out there with the cast it's still good. There is much humor in this and will mostly likely have you smiling at one point or another during the show. Especially with the interns they have. Oh Nigal, you give a person with random facts hope. Renewed for two seasons

Lie to Me:
People solve different cases presented to them by using the micro expressions that we all use but might not know about.
I really love this show. The characters are really likable and the acting is really good. The wit of the show is very... addicting is not the right work but something like that. I think my favorite part of watching this show was walking into the BYU-I library and seeing the micro facial expressions up on some of the walls with information from the show. Apparently I was not the only BUY-I student to watch and love Lie to Me. RENEWED!!!!

Dollhouse:
People sign over 5 years of their life and become "dolls." How? Their personalities are wiped from their neurons and placed on a back up drive. In this state they are innocent peaceful people. They are however sold for a time to people with enough money. They are given new personalities and sent off on an engagement, and then brought back and wiped once more.
I started watching this because it was Joss Whedon, but stayed because it was so intriguing. There was a twist at every corner. I did call that Millie was a doll though, after we found out that Victor was one. I also would have caught that Alpha was really Alpha if I had not been distracted when watching that particular episode, it was something he said. I am very happy that this has been renewed.

Fringe:
If you want to watch something that will give you the creeps after watching it, this is the show for you. It deals with science that is more on the edges of science, thus the name Fringe. This is not a show for the weak of stomach. I think the first 6 episodes there was always one scene, or more, where I had to turn away because of the gruesomeness of it. An example was one episode a guy got his had pulled into a machine, and you guessed it they didn't pull the camera away from it. It will also make you rethink the world around you. Oh and Spock was in the season finale! Not Spock from the new star trek but Spock the original...so I guess he is in the new star trek, but whatever. The acting is amazing, especially when you consider that 2+ of the cast are covering up their non American accent. Renewed

Harper's Island:
A show about murders that happen to a wedding party on an island off of the coast of Oregon.
This show is also one that is not for the weak of stomach, there is much gore in the killings. Such as the latest one where Richard was speared with a harpoon. Though it is easy to call when someone is about to die, some of the time, it is a good intrigue to guess who is behind the murders. Will it turn out that Wakefield, a man who is supposedly dead and killed 7 people 7 years earlier, really behind the murders or will it be JD the outcast of the family and who only wants attention. Or the british dude. I only accuse him because his girlfriend is into serial killers. The best part about this show that you know it's only a 1 season show.

Legend of the Seeker:
A show about a woods guide being pulled into a world of magic and becoming the Seeker of Truth. His duty is to defeat the evil in the land, which at this point is/was Rahl. He is accompanied by Kahlan a confessor, one who can by a single touch make someone totally and irrevocably devoted to her but also loosing who they were, and Zedd a wizard.
This is supposed to be the same style of show as Hercules and Xena, and you do get that feel. It is rather cheesy most of the time though does draw you in by the charm of the characters. The acting can be rather poor at times but over all it's good. If you have read the books don't expect the same story line. Think of it as a distant cousin that has sort of the same bone structure but still different and looks almost nothing like you. Also there is a lot more making out in the show than in the book, well the first book. I haven't started #2 yet. I would like to point something out here. In the season finale Richard was confessed. Yes he was also using the boxes of ordin and having an Ageal thrust into his back at the time but he was confessed! Something the writers seemed to have overlooked after they finally killed Rahl. The whole time after that happened and they were talking about new dangers I kept saying "And Richard was confessed!" They probably over looked his confession, and probably used that the boxes of ordin cancelled it out, so there will still be that forbidden love thing between him and Kahlan. Curse you writers. *grumblegrumblebookisbettermurmermurmber" Oh I guess for those that don't watch/read the books Kahlan and Richard can't show their love for each other because Kahlan might loose control of her power accidently and Richard would forget himself and focus solely on making Kahlan happy. Thus letting evil win so basically confessed Richard=bad. Well that's my rant/ review of Seeker Renewed.

"Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash."
~ Leonard Cohen

I have thought of another birthday present: star wars the force unleashed for the ps2. Unless someone wants to buy an xbox 360 or a ps3 for me.

Yesterday I applied to work at the BYU bookstore, tomorrow I think I will finally apply to the Marvell's since I'm pretty sure Cowabunga bay is not going to call back.

Tomorrow is also Provo's legacy festival. Should be fun.

Should I be taking notes?

"Every author in some way portrays himself in his works, even if it be against his will." ~Goethe

This week was interesting, well the weekend was.
Sadly there was no word from the interview people saying "Congratulations you now work for us!" I am giving them till Friday to call, if they don't I will call them, then continue looking for a job.
Saturday night was given to the adult session of stake conference. There were some very good talks about temples and there was a gorgeous sunset afterwards. The kind that makes me want to pick up my paint brushes again and gain the level needed to paint something like that.
Sunday morning I awoke a little before ten so I could get ready, not for stake conference, but for our stake's seminary graduation at 11. I still have a few friends here ha ha. It was a good meeting, afterwards I talked to Bounce about what she was going to do up at BYU-Idaho. She is a spring/fall child so we will be there at the same time for fall semester. Then I went and talked with Jess who will be going into the MTC on Wednesday. It's hard to believe that it's been three years since we had early morning seminary together. Then I talked to Sis. Larsen and headed home.
After a hour and a half wait I drove to the tabernacle for stake conference. Da and mom took grandma's car and sat in the parking lot to see if they could get reception with the transmitter they use to hear sacrament meeting as Da's immune system won't be strong enough for the general population until July or so, but seeing as the microphone didn't work for the first 10 minutes they left and waited for my notes to see what was said.
I sat in our customary seating and waited for the meeting to start. About ten minutes before Sis. Larsen came over and asked if I wanted to sit with her family. I said sure because sitting with people I knew was slightly better than sitting by myself. The talks were really good and I enjoyed it, though not the fact that the building was hotter than outside. But that only made it nice to walk outside after the meeting.
A quirk, I guess you could call it, I get from my parents is to wait away from the car for the traffic to die down and then go to the car and drive home. I chose to wait in the shade of a tree near the parking structure and read my Book of Mormon. As I sat there about three families in my home ward walk by and offered me a ride home if I needed it. It's good to know that I'm looked after =}
After that it was a two and a half hour wait until a couple of other friends' seminary graduation. That was a good meeting too, and it wasn't only because Hols sang a beautiful duet and Shar gave a wonderful talk.
It was a busy day for supposedly being a day of rest. ha ha
Oh I forgot to mention that Katherine from my elementary school days is getting married. I went to her bridal shower a week or so ago. It was good to have the old gang back together again. We haven't been like that for 5 years now? I think it's been that long.

OH and the whole reason this post was being written was to tell about FHE tonight. Basically it was a blast. There were card games played, a Jenga came that was a generic brand played, and a bunch of elementary style games that no matter how old you are that are just fun to play. I really like the people in my singles ward. Well the people that I've met.
Well that's enough for now, gotta blaze!

Jobs and a heart attack

“I write for the same reason I breathe — because if I didn’t, I would die.” -Isaac Asimov

Monday I got a call back for one of the jobs I applied too, I'm not going to say which one just incase that'll be a jinx. I was so wired from being nervous and excited, this being my first actual interview for a job, I stayed up till 5 in the morning.
I watched a few shows online that I had missed during the week, read, and had the living daylights scared out of me by my mother.
See I was sitting towards the edge of the bed I'm sleeping in till my room is finished. I had been staring at my computer screen for two hours so I could not see anything in the dark, I had my headphones in so I couldn't hear anything. I suddenly felt something push on the edge of the bed not far from me, I ignored it until I saw a shadow move against the light from the bathroom a few seconds later. Several things ran through my head: It's a murderer! Monster engineered by ZFT! A doll coming to kill me!
See when you watch shows like Harper's Island(a one season show about people getting killed on an island. There's more to the backround but that sums it up), Fringe (a show about science that's out there), and DollHouse ( a show where people become whoever the scientists want them to by implanting personalities) and the other murder mysteries I watch you can see why I thought this. Though I do believe my yelled reaction was "WHAT THE FRACK?" and I jumped about three feet in the air scaring both my poor mother who was just asking why I was up and my poor father sleeping a room over. This is a lesson: When you're daughter is on the computer at 4:30 in the morning just turn on the light and scare her that way please? Love ya mom!

Today I had the job interview. I sat in a cramped waiting area for thirty minutes with other applicants as they came and went. You could tell the high schoolers from the graduates because the high schoolers wore their everyday clothes and the graduates made an attempt to look nice.
I think my interview went well. I think that knowing ASL was a perk that caught his attention and the fact they need office people and oh hey I worked at an office for a school year! Hopefully I will get a call at the end of next week saying I'm hired. The one bad thing is the day I need off, the only day I need off the whole summer, is when this place might be opening. Talk about your bad timing right?

Texas Sunburn

"Let us hope that we are all preceded in this world by a love story."
- Don Snyder
This past week I have started to work out in the garden clearing out the weeds, mostly grass, to make way for the current and future plants. While working an hour each day I've acquired something I call the Texas sunburn.
On the first official day when I was visiting Nannie and Poopah for the summer in Texas we went to the beach, the three of us plus my two cousins. It was a Sunday so I stayed out of the water chasing sand crabs, collecting sea shells, and building things out of the sand while my cousins enjoyed the water. I apparently wasn't wearing a long enough shirt, because later that week when I slid off of the couch to sit on the floor part of my back hurt. When I went to go look in the mirror why I saw that on the small of my back I had a strip of sunburned skin where my shirt hadn't met my shorts.
So the same thing happened this week and that's why it's called a Texas Sunburn.

Job Hunting

“You cannot open a book without learning something.”
Confucius

Job hunting is not fun. Filling out different applications with the same information over and over again is tiring. I thought that was what a resume was for, fill out all your information once, copy then send it to hundreds of places. I finally learned my High school's address though, to bad I won't need it for anything besides job applications!
Places I've applied:
Barnes and Noble
Good Earth (there was a math test that went with it, hope I did okay on it)
Cowabunga Bay (really hope I get a job here)
Macey's the grocery store
Dillard's

and a few other places that I can't remember at the moment.
Like my AF teacher said, this is the worst time to go out into the world to find a job, to bad I still need the money for school.

Good news is that I got to go work in the garden today, reconnected with the earth and all that ha ha.
Oh and I went to lazer assault for a friends birthday. I proudly say that I was number one once again =} Maybe I should apply to something that involves those skills, like a police officer, or the army or professional paintballer.... Paintballer it is! ha ha

The Semester

"Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story"
- Max Ehrman

So looking back at this semester, I think it was a great one. My grades aren't exactly where I wanted them to be but my life is. I found friends that I will have mostly likely for the next four years and hopefully after that as well. I grew intellectually, spiritually, and sadly physically (sadly because I grew from east to west instead of north to south).
There were so many crazy times that to tell all of them would take several days orally and would probably fill a book or two if I wrote them all down with definitive detail.
There were also times of trails and roommates wanting to maim, if not kill, each other but the important part was that we got through it all okay.
Here are some of my favorite pictures:

And just keep in mind, these are only a fraction of my favorites...... if some of them need explanation, just ask and I'll gladly explain what's going on or why it is my favorite.

Two down, two to go

"A room without books is like a body without a soul." - Cicero

So now I only have two finals left. My presentation went good I think, especially since everyone else in my group pretty much bs all their info. I finished the paper and hopefully it'll be good enough. The regular spanish test went a little bit better than usual but we will see what the final score is later.
My science test went really good I think. I felt really confided for a lot of the questions, especially the ones that went a long the lines of this:
You have half way through the test, good job! Remember don't change any answers unless you are sure you are wrong. Fill in the right answer (c)
A. incorrect
B. incorrect
C. correct
D. incorrect

I love my science teacher and am really sad to see him go because I won't be taking another one of his classes. He is a geology professor and since I'm just not that into rocks I don't think it's going to work out. Ha ha.

Oh and today the weather was sooo nice! It got up to around 55 degrees so me and my roomies went down to the stadium and laid out on the turf. It was so nice to get some sun, even though I now have the first sunburn of the year, it's not that bad. My roommate Kim got her arm burned, in a strip, and nothing else is red. I feel kinda bad, but oh well.
The sad thing about the end of the semester is knowing I won't see a lot of people ever again. Like a lot of people in my ward that I'm not good friends with but I say hi too. Or the people I look forward to talking to in my classes. Oh how I will miss my theater class. They always make me smile.
Well I should go study some more for my American Foundations final.
Gotta Blaze!

Short update

"The two most engaging powers of an author are to make new things familiar and familiar things new." ~Samuel Johnson

Life is very stressful right now. I have never had to deal with finals before, not even last semester. This time I have to deal with 4. Two are for spanish, one I took and got a 97% on, one for American foundation, and the last is for Science foundations. Did I also mention I had a regular test in spanish, I have a ten page paper, and a group presentation due on monday? All for spanish. Why did I ever get it into my head that I HAD to take that class I'll never know.
Other than the stress from finals almost killing me, I'm doing good. The group (my roommates, next door, Sea Bass, and Nate) has been going to play wallyball a lot lately. It's so much fun! Though I come out every time with huge bruises on my wrists from it. I don't think I'm getting enough vitamin K.
I think it's sad that everyone becomes comfortable with each other just as the semester is ending. Like last night my FHE sister came over and talked to me for an hour and a half because she was just having a bad day and needed someone to talk to. And I'm finally getting to know other neighbors. But that just seems how life goes.
Conference today was amazing as usual and sparked good conversation in my apartment.
Well that's about it for now.

Random FB thing

"Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work." ~ Aristotle

So there is this thing going around FB to make your own band/album/art for said album. Only in an interestingly fun way. Here are the instructions:
1. Go to Wikipedia. Hit “random”
or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2. Go to Quotations Page and select "random quotations"
or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your first album.

3. Go to Flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”
or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4. Use Photoshop (or something like Picasa or picnik.com) to put it all together.

5. Post it to FB with this text in the "caption" or "comment" and TAG the friends to get them to join in.

Surprisingly it is WAY addictive. Here are four that I did for myself and helped other people do.

This one was mine, and the first I did. It turned out really cool

This was for Kat. I like this one the second best, which is funny because it is the second one I did.

This one was for Jordon. I didn't really like the color of the font because you can't read all of the Album's name very well, but Jordon did and that is all that matters.

This one was for Elysha and was semi hard to do because if one color of font worked in one area it wouldn't work in another and you can still kinda see that. But I really, really like the name.

I will probably post more later... If only graphic design was this easy I go into it as a major ha ha.

So much...

"Keep your fears to yourself, but share your inspiration with others."
- Robert Louis Stevenson

So much to tell so little time....
So I pretty much have the best roomies ever! We have so much fun together. Thursday we had a sleepover out in the living room.... Two couches pushed together is not enough room for four girls. Around 1 ish Jordon moved to the floor to make more room for the rest of us, Kim however missed that memo and stayed where she was. One one couch. So for the rest of the night me and Liz were one on couch smooshed together while Kim was spread out on the other. It was not a good night sleep wise, fun wise it was awesome.
Friday morning felt like a Saturday so we finally took some TMNT pictures. I only have one on my comp right now so I'll post more later.

That night we went to Bidolph for the game night. However we only stayed for 30 minutes because we were waiting for Elysha and Sea Bass to get back from their date, then we went sledding. Which as always was amazing, painful but amazing.
This time I only went for a few runs because I took the wrong gloves and they absorbed water like nothing else and then froze so mostly I had my hands in my coat and I took pictures and videos. This one is my favorite because of Kat at the end.

Turns out that when they hit the jump Kat's shoe went with Liz instead of staying with Kat. Oh and this was Kat's first time going sledding because she's from South Carolina. She had a blast. And the chick at the beginning talking? Yeah that's Kim, my roommate.
That night we had another sleep over in the living room. Don't worry we were smart this time and brought our mattresses out to sleep on. We woke up late on Saturday, sadly missing our kickboxing class. Basically we nothing the whole day... That is until Liz got back from IF with Deb. We watch the Truman Show and then Liz got the weirdest idea to have a pillow bumping fight..... It was random but fun.
Then around 9 pm we got a call from Kat saying that we should go to a hip hop dance. So we did. It was so much fun! I called sea bass and this is basically what I said to him:
"Don't ask questions. Meet us at the MC, bring as many people as you can and bring a dollar for each of them" That was Liz's Idea.
It turned out to be only him and Han but it was way fun. Afterwards we went to Micky D's with a bunch of Liz's friends we met at the dance. That was also a ton of fun. We even made it back for curfew.
Sunday we went to a Break the Fast with our relief society. It was so fun to talk to the girls in a relaxed setting.
Then the boys, Sea Bass and Han, came over to watch a tv show called Wipeout with Me, Liz, Kim, Jordon, Megan and Elysha. It was a lot of fun.
Oh and I'm on a volleyball team with Elysha, Liz, Maria, Kristy, Elisa, me and Breena. We might have not won any games yet but we have tons of fun, even if I always hurt myself somehow. Ha ha.
Well gotta blaze!!

Boxers or Briefs?

"We shouldn't look for someone to complete us, but rather be complete in ourselves. Two complete people can still be one."
100th post wahoo!!!

Alright, a quick explanation of boxers or briefs. It's a lot like Apples to Apples. Only instead of having one card with one word on it you have a card with several phrases on it. The categories are: I am, I..., I want, I like, I don't, I have. Each card will have one of each category. There is a six sided dice that you roll and it will pick the category for you. You have a judge and those that place a card. Then the judge picks the funniest, that player gets a briefs token, and the most true, this player gets a briefs token. The first with 6 tokens wins.
It is a very fun game though there are some wow in a bad way lines. Most lines are funny though.

I went to the welcome back bash dance on saturday and had a blast. We even met some new friends. Im sure the dance would have been better if Liz was there but she was in Utah. Sunday was fun to because we had a potluck dinner and played, you guessed it, boxers or briefs. I like having activities every week. Our room has decided on having movie nights every friday because Liz and Kim brought so many . It's great.
Also last night was FHE with the ward it was a blast. We had name tags but we, my apartment, put the TMNT names because we decided they are cool and we will be them once we go to the store and get the appropriate colored fabric. I know we are strange but it's college. Only a few people got the joke and most just asked us our real names. It was nice because there was a ton of free pizza and we got to hang out some boys, mostly Han.
Then we had been back at the apartment for a few hours I got a text from Sea Bass that said he thought that Han was on the way over. He then explained that Han had left randomly, not so random I found out later, and Sea Bass didn't know anywhere else he would go.
So I texted Han and asked if he was okay, it being around 11:15 pm. He said he was on a walk because the boys had started to watch 300 in his room, I'm guessing it wasn't edited either. I texted Sea bass and asked what he was doing watching an R movie and he said don't worry about it. I texted back and told him I was going to worry, and he said he was doing laundry and he wasn't "really" watching it. I'm proud of Han for not watching and disappointed in the other boys for watching because I know of at least three scenes in there that are not suitable for pre missionaries or for any member.

To end on a good note my science teacher is awesome. He teaches exactly how I like to learn, through stories. And he taught in the Middle East for a few years before coming to the Y-I. Oh yeah, I think I'm going to like this semester a lot! Plus my roomies just rule.

inight

"To be great is to be misunderstood."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Last night was inight and it was so much fun. Here are some pictures

Bungee Ball, I'm not sure if that's the right name, was so much fun. It made you sore because you and the person you were against fought for the same rope.

That's Breena going for a shot. She's not our roommate but she might as well be!

Roller-skating was a lot of fun, especially since some of us took a good 10 minutes before being able to move without losing control =}

Liz and Jordon taking a break from roller-skating

Jordon, Breena and Kim

While we were walking around we meet up with a girl that was in my math class last semester. She told us about a carriage ride and we just had to go.

So far this has been an amazing semester. And I hope it continues to be that way.

Just a quicky

"In life, you can never do a kindness too soon because you never know how soon it will be too late."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today was the first day back in the dorms. I arrived last night with Mom and Da. We stayed in a hotel and around 8 we came to the apartment. I ran to check to see if Bekka was in her office, you were right mom, and got the keys to my new room. I was the first one here and was until 1ish when my room roommate Kim arrived. Then I met a neighbor and hung out with her because Kim went to I connect. Then Liz came, then Jordan.
We had a blast tonight. We played a game called boxer or briefs and it is hilarious! I also met Allie's new roommate, since I invited her to play games because I knew she was all alone. She was great fun as well.
Then the four of us, roomies, took a see what color personality you are test. It was great fun, we were laughing most of the time at questions. Then somehow Liz ended up yelling at some girls that she was from West somewhere too. So they came over and hung out for a good 30 minutes. I think this will be a very fun, very interesting semester... And another plus? Liz is a clean freak, Yea!

A quickie

"The unread story is not a story; it is little black marks on wood pulp. The reader, reading it, makes it live: a live thing, a story." - Ursula K. Le Guin
So quick update. While I was home I went to Rissy's birthday party, which was a huge blast! I saw twilight, it was awful... for the most part. Then I came back to school. I went to a play with Dustin, it was good. Um... I played commando tonight with Han, Marie, and Dustin. That was amazingly fun. I must find a park at home that has enough cover to play this game and introduce it to my friends.
Um... nothing really exciting has happened. We passed white glove so that's good. Um... that's about it. So I'm coming home in two days and I can't wait. Oh and I've spent 18 hours + in the woodsroom this week. And there will be more hours to come. I am almost finished with my clock though. I have only to router the holes for the hinges, put putty in the gaps, put the hinges on the clock and the door, fit the glass, put the face in, put the clock workings in, put the pendulum in the clock, stain the clock, and put finishing on the clock. Wahoo.
See ya'all soon!!

wahooooooooooooooo

"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, and life to everything."
-Plato
Saturday of last week was uneventful. I stayed up late friday and watched Bones online. I think it was a very bad day when our apartment found out that you could watch full episodes online. And Saturday I slept in and really didn't do much.
Sunday was ward conference and I sat next to Han the whole time.
Monday was FHE and we combined with some other groups, one was Dustin's cause it was his 19th birthday. Did I mention he leaves on his mission 5 days after fall semester ends? Anyway we played a, as in 1 , game of capture the flag in the Gardens before everyone boring left. And in saying everyone boring I mean everyone but Marie, Dustin, Han, and I. So we played a game called Commando. Now it's not what you think. It is a game like hide and go seek, only you have bases you have to touch in order and the person counting has to stay in place. It is a very fun game. Then Dustin tripped on some steps and went to bandage himself up, it was kinda gross let me tell you. Then Marie left because a contact had popped out and she was half blind. So that left me and Han, alone, in the Gardens. It was not as awkward as one might think. Oh and to all those who haven't heard the Gardens are the place where most proposals happen. Then Marie came back and we went into the Taylor building for a drink. That is where we found a brochure for the British Literary Tour. A tour that takes a month and you get to go to Britain, Ireland, Wales, and Paris! All in all about a month of traveling for about 3500 dollars plus tuition so about 4100 dollars, plus you get credit for school. Welcome to my new dream trip.
Anyway Dustin came back and we played for a few more rounds then we all went home.
Tuesday was devotional and my stake president from my home ward came and talked, that was cool. Oh and I saw one of my friends from elementary school that I haven't seen since middle school. Cool huh?
Wednesday was enrichment, not that exciting but I did meet some more people, just in time for the end of the semester.
Thursday was this amazing forum entitled When Souls Had Wings: A Look At The Pre-Existence. It was amazing!!! I can't wait for that book to come out. It's all about how the Pre-Existence, though that's not correct it should be the pre-mortal existence but that's a side note, has been looked at all through history to explain things and it's just amazing how the guy presented it. Some of the people I talked to afterwards said it was over their heads and some even fell asleep but I was was so interested I didn't even realize what time it was when it ended.
Oh and Dustin was there. He walked me to class afterward even though he was staying for the QandA session. And I asked him to go to a play with me.
English got out early so when I was sitting at home doing nothing Tiffany came over and asked if I would go visiting teaching with her. How could I deny my favorite (FHE) sister? So I said yes. Side note it's kinda our thing to say FAVORITE SISTER! When ever we see each other. And then Charice or Maria will get "jealous" so we have to amend it to one of my favorite sisters! I love my FHE group.
Anyway that was fun. Then later Dustin came over to play Risk. I kinda won, but only because he went easy and he was being the computer player. Then we went and played Commando with Marie and Han. After that we went and wandered buildings that we hadn't been in before. I finally got to see the Spori! It's the art building and I'm going back when the art gallery is open too. Then we got kicked out of the Smith because it was 1130. We had stopped there and were doing the newspaper sodoku.
Dustin walked Marie home, and Han walked me home. When I walked in the door Danielle ask how did that happen, because I left with Dustin but came back with Han. Funny what life will do huh lol.
Friday we failed our clean check so now we have to do white glove. I love when people don't clean.
Then I came home!! And when I say home I mean home, the place that I have lived since I was almost 9 in the city I have lived my whole life! It's good to be back in a house that's big. After a very productive woods class mind you. I'm now ahead of the class!
Oh and I met Han's parents too. See I was sitting on my couch watching a tv show and I heard a buzzing. I thought it was the Main character's phone and wondered why she wasn't answering, then I realized it was my phone on the arm rest. Oops. Well I answered it and it was Sea Bass. He said "We're doing something fun at Biddolph, you should come." I said okay and hung up. I then made Allyx go with me. Why? I knew the real reason Sea Bass had called. Han's parents were there. See everyone seems to think it's fun to try to push Han and I together. I don't like it because if it's meant to be it will take it's own time and plus I don't like being force to do anything, just ask family or friends.
Anyway they turned out to be really nice people. They did ask for some details about things but that's only because they were curious about what Han hadn't told them. We talked for the better part of an hour, then I had to go to woods. While I liked them I just hope they liked me.
Saturday I went to PHS's school play and met up with Jan and Kandy. They weren't as excited to see me as I was them. Oh well. After the play I called Hols to see if she wanted to hang out. Now there was the reaction I was looking for. I got there and soon Levi, Sharla and some boys I don't know showed up. We watched Wall-E, which is the cutest movie btw, I highly recommend it. And then I left to come home.
Sadly my cousin is not here at the moment, she is back east until tuesday, or maybe that is a good thing because I can get some sleep lol.
I love being home for several reasons too. I don't have to make my own food from a poor college student's budget, I can talk to my mother anytime with out worrying about my phone dying and I can see my da anytime I want to, when he's not at work. LIfe back home is great!
Well Gotta Blaze!!
Oh did I mention I'M HOME!!!!!!!!

:D

"No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader." ~ Robert Frost

So Saturday I woke up around noon and went onto FB. I had one new friend request and guess who it was? Justin! Only I learned his name is Dustin. At least I was only one letter off right? Anyway to make a long story short we went and played basketball together. Well tried to anyway, all the courts were taken up so we played racquetball instead. It was way fun, though I do feel bad because I beat him 3 games to one.
Saturday night I don't really remember what I did so obviously it's not important.
Sunday I went to church alone. Kristen was out of town while Allyx and Danielle slept in. So as I'm looking for a seat in sacrament I hear a "Kanani!" from behind me so I turn and there is Dustin. So I sat with him because he was also alone. And wouldn't you know it bishop was giving me a look all of the meeting. I really just wanted to stand up and be like "I'm not dating anyone seriously bishop! I promise." but I couldn't so I avoided looking at him.
The end of Sacrament I stood up and who should be sitting a row behind and a few seats over but Han. I waved and he waved back. Then Dustin and I went to sunday school. Yes we sat next to each other again. Then sunday school was over so I stood up to go to RS and he so he stood up too. I asked him where he was going and he said he guessed priesthood was in that room but he'd walk me to RS. So he did, and he picked me up too and walked me home. Meanwhile we passed Han and Parkeve, I had to hit his arm to get him to look. Oh well.
Monday was FHE. That was fun. We got lost going to our 1st counselor's house so we drove around for and hour trying to find it. Which was pretty fun. There were like three cars in our parade and I think we may have made some people mad, oh well. Watcha gonna do right?
When we finally arrived we played Baby If You Love Me Give Me A Smile. it was a blast. Not only did we learn a lot about how to get each other to laugh we learned who could do impersonations really, really well.
After driving back, this only took about ten minutes, I realized I still had laundry in the laundry room and had to take it out. So I ran inside and after grabbing all the necessary things looked at my phone and saw that I had one missed call. I looked and it was an Idaho number. I realized it must have been Han and went outside to see if he was still there. He was and he asked me out on a date. It was really cute.
Then I went to bed... I think.
Tuesday was good. Classes were normal I guess cause I can't really remember anything important.
Tuesday night was really good. Han picked me up at 7 to go to the stake dance, that was our date. It was kinda dumb cause the first thirty minutes there was no music, and then when they started to play some it was period music that was hard to dance too. Though after the first couple songs it got way better. I think this is the first stake dance that I have danced to all the slow songs, all three that they played, I guess that's the advantage of having a date. The second to last dance was an Anastasia song, go figure. Basically it was a really fun dance.
Wednesday was okay. It was our last water polo game cause we lost it. I played for the first quarter and that was it. But thats okay because the person who didn't want to play played for the other quarters. But I'm not bitter.
Thursday was okay.
Today was good. We finally cleaned the apartment. It was so disgusting. I hope we never skip a clean check again.
Then I was kidnapped by Han, Sea Bass, Parkeve, and Andrew to go see the new 007 movie. To bad it was sold out when we got there. But we had fun walking there, a thirty minute walk, and back again at night. Sarcasm aside it was really fun. Specially when I stole Andrew's hat and he didn't notice till we had left a food place and started to run back for it. That was funny.

Friday

"You write to communicate to the hearts and minds of others what's burning inside you. And we edit to let the fire show through the smoke." ~ Arthur Polotnik

Sorry for posing twice in one day but I figure it's better to start small blogs than one big one so there ya go.

Today I woke up and looked at my clock and jumped out of bed because it was 11, I have a class at 11:30. I raced to get dressed and everything then I looked at Allyx's clock, it said 10:05. That's when I remembered I haven't set my clock back an hour. And I won't for another two weeks either. So then i sat down and had breakfast because I was just going to skip it when I "didn't" have time.
Math class was great, it got out 30 minutes early. So I came home and relaxed for three hours. Then I went to woods. There I did the second pass on my top piece with the router and worked on starting the piece of the pediment that will be seen. The first attempt left me with a board that was too thin. It was sad really because it was a nice looking piece of cedar. The second piece was perfect. Now I just have to cut the piece for the trim and I just need to do the door and the carved bottom and I'll be done! I also helped two of the guys put their back pieces on so I felt smart.
When I came home Danielle, two of the girls next door went to the Galley to get something to eat, well Danielle did, I was still full from my two potato lunch. Then we sat down to watch a movie I despise. Well I didn't watch it I was on my computer. Then 8:45 rolled around and I went to the boys dorm to game night. They had card and board games but the only kind of game that was played was computer/video games. It was sweet, projectors, tvs, tons of computers. I was in heaven, and so were the boys. I also made a new friend.
I was getting some chips, though I shouldn't have since I'm sick, and I looked over and he looked away quickly, so I did a slow second look and smiled at him. About ten minutes later he came over to where Sea Bass, Han, Andrew, and I were playing Call of Duty 4 on the xbox 360 and played with us. He was really nice and funny. I think his name is Justin, I'm about 95% sure that's his name anyway. It was tons of fun, I'm not gonna lie.
Then I came home at 12:45. We had played games for 3 and 1/2 hours. Oh Han and I also played a game of pool, he won but barely, and we played jenga too. I won that.
Well that was my day. It was pretty fun.
Well gotta go to bed now.
