Three days ooo

Wednesday

Yesterday we went to Ramallah. We left the hotel and drove to the Consolut in West Jerusalm and met Alli. Then it was into the armored van with everyone and Slick. I think it's really fun having all the security but I don't think anyone else feels the same. Okay so maybe fun isn't the right word, maybe safer or important would be better. Whatever. The drive out there was really nice. The countryside is not what I pictured but most of what I've seen hasn't either so there was no big suprise there. When we arrived at Ramallah we went to the RI-Sol office. That was fun becuase we got to see where Nadia and a few other people we've met work. Oh and I guess it was kinda fun to play communication games with the students there. But in truth it really was fun. We got potateos for one of the games and sadly I lost mine somewhere. *sniff, sniff* I liked my potateo.
We also watched a movie about water in the villages in Palestine. That was really sad. It made me want to go home, get rich, and donate all my money to build wells, and sewage systems.
Then it was back to Jerusalm for about an hour or two of freetime. Kathlene and Yasmine went shopping, no suprise, Josh went with them for lack of something better to do while Adam, Miss B. and I went to the Tower of Kind David Museum of the History of Jerusalem. That was fun to walk around the citidale and see a lot of history.
Then it was off to AlNaysak for the last time. We learned about circits and using a sodder! I've been wanting to use one of those since I was in my welding class last year. It's been interesting to see how my interests are showing up everywhere around here. Then we had a BBQ with AlNayzak as a final goodbye and it was sooooo good!
We walked home after that and I had some really good talks. One with Miss B. about wether to call her Miss B. or Audrey since she's no longer my teacher. Then one with Adam. He's not that bad once you think of him as a little brother.
When we arrived at the hotel I came upstairs and tried my best to stay up. I took a shower, watched tv, did some soduku waiting for the computer so I could blog. But it didn't work so well. Around 10:10 I was out and out until 1:00 am when I woke up burning up. So I opened the window and went back to sleep and woke up several times after that. I don't know what's going on because this is the second night in a row I've done that. But that's probably more than you wanted to know. Well since I'm supposed to be at breakfast right now and I haven't gotten out of my PJs yet I'll write later.

Thursday and Today
Alright so yesterday, the day I couldn't sleep, started off really bad. I was really tired and my roommate did little things that really irritated me for some reason. Like leaving the door to the room open when I was changing. It's not like anyone would walk by our door since it's the last one in the hall but still. Then for some reason going back to Al Ma'amal didn't help either and art usually does. Oh yeah art. My painting kinda turned out cool, I think it still really needs work but I can't really do anything about it now. We also did another project. I don't remember what it is called but it's based off of traditional Arabic art work. That was kinda fun. Then while everyone else went off into the old city I went back to the hotel and just relaxed for an hour before arabic class. That was as fun as always. But I did get to meet me and Kathlene's host family. They are really nice. Then it was back to arabic. After that I went back to the hotel for some more alone time and just to relax. Then it was off to the dance concert. I really wish I could remember the name, it's like Dabkha or something like that. It was freakin amazing! Also I got to talk to Daveena, sorry if I spelled that wrong, and Ben. They were so much fun to talk to. But yeah the concert was amazing, I really don't think I could do somehting like that ever. Then we came back to the hotel and I had a really fun talk with Miss B. about the future. It was not only fun but it was nice to have a real deep conversation with someone for the first time in what two weeks? Yeah we talk and stuff here but it's not like in depth talk about personal experiences talk. It was really nice.
Then today we went to Jericho. We met two students from Genin, Rowan and Achmed. They were really fun to meet and get to know. We visited a palace and a church in a mountain. That was cool because we actually got to go inside and the monk that lives there, alone no contact with hardly anyone, hardly lets anyone in. So that was really cool to go inside. Then we went to the Dead Sea. That was tons of fun. Everyone tells you can float and stuff but I didn't expect to actually float no effort. It was amazing. Only it was disgusting to lick your lips after they had been in the water since it was so salty. I definatley don't recomend that. But I do say go to the dead sea.
Well Bye!

Another day

This is the day after the last post, so Tuesday I think.

Okay so today I thought would be boring because it was supposed to be the same as yesterday, go to a museum and then arabic training, but it was awsome. We went to the museum named Al Ma'mal and we got to paint! I think on almost every application of a get to know you I said I loved art. Well someone must have been paying attention because we totally did art. It wasn't a boring project either like you have to paint like this or you have to be realistic. It had basic rules but after that you could just have fun. The project was done in steps. The first was to pick some kind of cactus and draw/sketch it with a marker, leaving a positive space, and coloring in the backround with a different color using lines to make an interesting pattern. I really liked my sketch because although it didn't come out like I thought it would it still looks awsome. Well there was a second step to that sketch. We were to pick two color pencil colors and color in some white space or use charcol to add shading. I used color pencil, they call them colored crayons how weird is that? To color in some of my white space. I really hope I can bring it home to the states to show people.
Then we got a huge piece of paper and used the same idea as the sketch only using one of my favorite mediums, acrylic! Paint that is if you don't know art ha ha. That painting isn't going as well as I would like it to but it's still a work in progress. We go back on Thrusday so we'll see how it goes.
We then had about an hour break before Arabic class so I came back to the Hotel and relaxed for a bit. Then we headed to class. Well Me, Miss B., Josh and Adam went. Yasmine was at a staff meeting for RI-Sol and Nadia and Kathlene were shopping in the Old City.
We waited for about five minutes and then we started class. This class was really good because we are really learning things we can use on the street. We even went out for half an hour and had to ask questions to store owners in Arabic of course. That was fun and now I know how to ask how much, what's this and can I look around? It's really nice.
Then we had free time again so we sat around on the couches in the lobby like area of our floor and had a de-brieffing on the past couple of days. Wahoo. It was fun though cause we had a lot of laughs.
Well gotta blaze!

Quick Update

Hey everyone! This is a quick update of one of the days here in Jerusalm. I do believe it was yesterday which was a Monday... I think. I lose track of time here. But don't worry this is just short blog so you can get an idea of what's going on here. I'll be more specific later.

Today was really nice because we were able to sleep in. Something that was desperately needed because I am definitely not used to walking around so much. Also the boiler here was fixed so we had hot water this morning that was another bonus.
This morning there was free time in the morning since our day started late so Miss B., Kathlene and I went to the Garden tomb. That was really interesting, I wish we could have had it more to ourselves because there was this huge group of tourists from somewhere in Europe. They weren’t the nicest people and were really loud. But luckily they were mostly leaving by the time we got to the actual tomb. It wasn’t what I had pictured but it was still interesting to go there. After that we went back to the hotel and
We were all sitting in the waiting room after breakfast waiting for Nadia to come so we could go on a tour of the Islamic sites in the Old City and she showed up. Sadly we couldn't go on the tour because we don't have a permit yet. So we have to wait and see if we can get one at all. I hope we do because how many times in your life will you be an American in the Holy Land with a chance to go into the Islamic sites? For me maybe only this once.
Instead of that we went to the Rockefeller Museum and that was cool. It allowed for time to myself, just to think and be alone. Something we don't get a lot of. IT was also cool to see everything they had there. The Greek inspired stuff was specially interesting because I am really into Greek mythology.
After that everyone but Miss B. went onto the walls of the Old City. It was awesome to walk the ramparts and to imagine being in ancient times. I feel bad for Nadia because at one point we had to walk on metal stairs suspended over nothing. They were connected to the wall and everything but they were over empty air. And it was one or two stories up and poor Nadia is afraid of heights but we talked her through it. The whole thing took an hour or two. We started a Damascus gate, walked to Lion's Gate and back again. Then we headed Jaffa Gate. I'm pretty sure that's where I got sunburned because there was no shade whatsoever. But it was so much fun to be up there and to see the city from a different angle.
We then headed to lunch and ran into a bunch of tourist groups at the restaurant we ate at. That was semi-annoying because one I hate huge packs of tourists and two the price of the restaurant was really high because of them. But I guess that’s part of the life in a huge historical city, sah?
Anyway after that we still had about an hour of free time left so we went to Shaban’s, a store that is really fair and most of the BYU students go to because he is so nice, in the Old City. Nadia really wanted to see what we, the students, had been talking about with Shaban so we went and shopped there. I got this really cute backpack thingy because I hate looking like a tourist with my camera and money purse hanging over my shoulder. For some reason no matter where I go I just can’t stand that look.
After a while in Shaban’s we realized we were a bit late for Arabic class so we booked it to the building. We were late but not so late that the teacher left. We had a really good class. Mostly on simple sentences that we could use around the city and how to answer them. It was really really helpful. Then it was free time again because class was something like three hours today. It was supposed to be five but we went through our lesson really fast.
For free time the students went back to the hotel and just relaxed for a while, and the teachers went to dinner. Well we got hungry too so we went exploring. Someone decided not to go to any of the restaurants we had gone to before so we wandered for some time. Though somehow no matter what street we took we always ended up back at the hotel. Finally I had had enough so I went back to the hotel with Adam and had some snacks my wonderful mother had packed. Josh and Kathlene wandered some more before finally going to one of the regular restaurants. And that pretty much sums up the day. Goodnight!

Soooo......

The Israel trip is back on, the snag? We have to sign forms that say if we die it's our fault because we knew the risk. Wahoo.
I'm really nervous to go over, not because of the risk, but because it's been what, two months since school got out. Guess where my arabic went. Some place I have no idea how to get it back. Fun fun.
I get to go to cali with my mom and dad for the fourth. My uncle has a condo/beach house thingy so it should be fun. Plus the beach is just across the street so lots of time will be spent there.
Oh and go look at the pictures my teacher posted on the provo high blogs(see links on right hand side of blog), they're pretty cool. Notice how in every picture I'm in of the arabic ones I'm doing something with my hand. It's because I take asl I tell you! Oh and the mock trial pictures of the asl ones, I took those as a dutiful ta should. Oh the first three pictures and some after that was my class. It was small, only 9 people by the end of they year. But we had tons of fun.
So this is random but, I figured I took 6 years of my asl teacher though she's only been at phs for three. 3 years of ASl, two of being a TA and one of arabic. Nuts huh?

The Summer

"Anyone can do any amount of work provided it isn't the work he is supposed to be doing at the moment."
--Robert Benchley
So school got out and I thought it would be great. Well I was wrong, as usual. The Trip to New York, instead of Israel, was fun but it was only a week. So far this summer has been pretty boring. Hols is gone again this week, Jan is gone too, and Kay? Well let's just say we aren't talking because I think she's being stupid with boys.... oh yeah my earlier prediction was right. But she's right back at it, again.
Saturday was fun though. Hols got back from her cruise and we, me and her, went for ice cream and shopped for a present for her roommate this week for BYU scholars. That was fun because we talked in an Australian accent for most of the night. Don't ask me how it got started.
On a total saparate note boys are funny. I won't eleberate right now but they just are.

Oh and I guess my summer isn't a total waste, I've been hanging out with my sister and favorite niece. It's been way fun.

Updates

"Filling a bookcase is like gathering a social circle."
- May Lamberton Becker
Lets start with the good news shall we? I graduated, wahoo, and am now getting ready to go to college in July. I got my new laptop another wahoo!! I also got with it a free nano ipod. Sweet no? I also get to go east for the first time in my life. The bad news with that is my trip to Israel is cancelled. We are not sure if it is just postponed or forever cancelled we just know I'm not leaving on Sunday. But I am leaving Monday for the east, a fun trip with my mom and dad before I leave. I just wish I could go to Israel, I went to a two day culture and language class to prepare to go and it was so much fun. Our teacher was from Morocco and she was hilarious. Professor Belnap, the professor in charge of the arabic program, was there the first day and he told my parents he was impressed with me. That made me really confident that I could survive for three weeks in Israel.
My birthday was a blast, I had a family dinner that I feel kinda bad about because I spent most of it with my three friends but I had tons of fun and I still got to see family so...
So I have dubbed one of my friends with the nickname of Mena. Why? Because my older sister had a friend of that name who flirted with all the guys and all the guys had a crush on her. And that equals my friend perfectly. She is all over this one guy when he's around even though she tells me repeatedly she doesn't like him and then when he's gone she's flirting with all the other boys. Yuck.
Oh well, I'm just glad I'm not like that.
Gotta blaze

Update

I got to go to prom!!! It was so much fun!! I went on a blind date so that was kinda nerve wracking at first. Yes I know, a blind date to prom but it was sooo amazing!!! Here are some pictures:

Emily and I played cards before the boys came because I was sooooooooooo nervous. I had nothing to worry about. He was so nice. I couldn't ask for a better date.

The other big news is that I get to go to Israel!! Not like in a video or anything but go. As in I will be in Jerusalam. In Nazereth, In bethlehem!! How freakin sweet is that??

Updates

"A love that can last forever takes but a second to come about."
- Cuban Proverb

Let's get the Arabic part of my posts out of the way shall we? My Arabic teacher found out that she will be the American teacher taking the four students to Israel this summer. How cool is that? And I have a really good chance of being one of those students! It's so awesome! I really hope I can go. Also me and 6 other students from my class (7/11 ha ha) got to go to the state capitol to watch the Governor sign a bill giving more money to the more exotic languages such as Chinese, Arabic and Russian. Here is a picture of us that is on my teacher's blog. Since I doubt anyone checks those out because she's about as good as updating as I am, I'm putting them here.
Just so you know why some of us look unhappy/ uncomfortable is because we were getting pictures taken left and right. Not to mention the Gold room was extremely hot. Also some of us ie me was not expecting it.
The ride up and back was pretty fun too. I like hanging out with boys I've decided. Though only a certain kind.

So now that's done let us go on to American Sign Language. So apparently every year there is this HUGE deaf conference at UVU. Tons of deaf people come from all over the country. Who knew? Anyway I went this year and had a blast. We watched some movies that were about deaf, or were made by, deaf people. One was really cool because It was a deaf woman talking about her experience in Austria in WW2. It was sad but interesting.
I got to go to a lecture from a famous deaf woman. Don't ask me her name I can't remember. Though it was really thought provoking.
In class we did a test, well I did it last year level 3 is doing it right now, on this movie called "Eyeth." It's all signed by this one guy and I got to meet him. It was so cool.
Anyway here's a picture of us on the bus that is on my teacher's blog. Since I doubt anyone checks those out because she's about as good as updating as I am, I'm putting them here.

" Hide not your talents, they for use were made. What's a sun-dial in the shade? "
Benjamin Franklin

So I got in the newspaper the other day because of Arabic, and now the whole east coast is looking at us.... It's cool but scary ya know? I'm just afraid I won't live up to everyone's expectations, but what's new?

The friend situation hit a peak about two weeks ago. Me and Kay had a fight over texts. Welcome to the 21st century no one talks to each other any more. Anyway very hurtful things were said but things that needed to be said were said and things were brought to our attentions that needed to be. It's all good, at least we talk now. Though I still have a problem trusting her and even though she acts like nothing happened I can't. She slipped back into the flow so easily, I wonder if it really mattered to her. Well just another way I learned to protect myself I guess.

I'm almost done with school, two more weeks but I think I'll stay just to have something to do. Oh and thanks to the sister who gave me a place to look to for work!!

Sweet!

" Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes. "
- Muriel Strode

So I went to Arabic class the other day and got some exciting news. The program we are exchanging videos with Palestinian students with is sponsoring four students to go over there!! I could have a 1 in about 35 chance of going! And that's if the other two classes around America decide to send in applications! I'm so excited. I just need to fill out the application first. Oops.
Speaking of the video exchanges we got one recently that asked if we had heard any arabic music. Before we started filming our responses our teacher thought it would be good to be able to say that we had. So we listened to Nancy Agram(Ajram), and now I have her songs stuck in my head. Though I can't understand them, funny huh?
Wow I talk a lot about Arabic class now.

Anyway, life is boring as usual. Though with a lot more arguments now. It seems like Kay and I can't go two days without getting mad at each other. Ah drama between friends. I wonder when I'll tell her I'm leaving.
Told Hols and she's fine with it. I should probably tell Jans too. I can only hope my roommates will be cool when I get there.

Wednesday, February 06, 2008

Wahoo.....

So the letters to Iraq came and went. I even got a response!! It was pretty sweet. I sent one back but there was a problem with an Iraqi soldier talking the letters from the teachers so we'll see if I get a response. I also was taped for a conference in D.C. how cool is that?
Anyway life is okay. Friends have so many issues but hopefully that can be dealt with. We'll see. The school year is going by way to fast. I kinda wish it was august again just because that was a much simpler time. Oh well.

Oh and something to be excited about? Blogger can now be translated into Arabic!! I would do it but I'm kinda scared I wouldn't be able to read anything.

Sunday, December 09, 2007

Great.

So remember last post I said I was talking to students in Palistine? And how I was freaked out I was going to say something that would spark something? Well guess what? My teacher told us we are now going to be writing letters in Arabic to students in Iraq. Like I wasn't scared enough before.
Anyway life is okay. I think I patched up a friendship with Kay.... kinda. But now I know when she's giving me a lie. I don't know which was better, believing her and finding out later it was total bull or knowing right away it was bull. Tough cunundrum huh?
Wow that's a hard word to spell, and I didn't even do it right.
So I've decided that I hate waiting. I applied to several schools and they are taking forever to get back to me. It's awful. People tell me it's good that they haven't rejected me yet so their is still hope but I hate waiting. For people too.
Silent weekend was a bust for those who care. Something I love got in the way, snow. Atleast a hot fedex guy saved us.

Thursday, November 22, 2007

Yikes.

So I'm in Arabic right? Right. At the begining of the year my teacher said that we would be writing to Palastiniean( that is a very hard spelling) students, in arabic. I thought it would be no problem you know. and then she threw us a curve ball. No longer will we be writing, we never did, but shall be sending video e-mails to them.... Jigga what?
Apparently Washington D.C., how cool is that, decided it would be better to send videos rather than letters. Apparently it is easier to sensor things in video format.
Now not only do i have to know what I'm saying I have to speak well and not look like a total idiot. Well that worked but I sound like an idiot. The video went up on the website the other day and I can totally hear my voice warbling! So not cool. Not to mention every oneelses videos look really cool or have interesting props while all I have is a small ink drawing I did two days before while bored in Creative writing.

I just hope I don't say anything to cause a bigger war.

That time again!!

The time for Powderpuff once again rolled around. This year there was much enthusiasm from the seniors because we kicked trash last year. However there was much um... how to put this... restriction from the higher up people because they didn't want a repeat of last year with all the injuries.
Oh well it happened and seniors kicked trash!!!! Not as much as last year becuase the juniors were also well coached this year so it wasn't a smash em up game. Though you wouldn't know that by looking at my knee.

That's one big grass stain with several others around it. I tend to end up on the ground in any sport I play.
i did wicked awsome though. I blocked a pass, the ball bounce off of my hand and into one of our player's hands. I also did some hard rushing making their QB mess up passes and I made it so other girls could pull some flags.
Sadly we only scored once but really it should have been more but the refs were being stupid. Luckily we always stopped the juniors from scoring the 3 times they got near the goal. Wahoo!!

Oh and there were no serious injuries like last year, and it was the juniors getting ticked off too.

Just to say...

I oppose a certain relationship in the group.
I think it's going to end badly either before the end of January or when graduation roles around when one of the people stays in high school and the other goes to college.

Just wanted to say that so that I won't have to say told ya so to the person. And if the person even reads this I support you just know I don't want you to get hurt.....

Halloween

"Friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly"

So I'm happy to report that the dance was amazing!!!
For the day date we took our dates to a pumpkin patch and told them to find a pumpkin. We didn't tell them why till after they were bought and we were at a church parking lot.
Then we told em that we were to go bowling.. with the pumpkins. Some were kinda lumpy so they rolled funny but we had a blast doing it!
That is till one group's split open and we all started to smash ours on the tarp. Though that was pretty fun too.

We then dropped off the boys and got ready for the actual dance and dinner. I picked up my people( my date and another couple) and went to the house we were to have dinner at. Only we were the first ones there. We thought it would be awkward to go in without our friend being there so we drove around the block multiple times. For ten minutes or so. But everyone finally showed up so we had dinner, managed to have a small food fight too.
Then it was off to the dance and after that we played fugitive.
I would like to report that for it being the first time I was one of the fugitives my date and I won in under 20 minutes. Running a mile is no easy cake walk believe you me.

Anyway last night I helped one of my friends get ready for Halloween. How you ask, by tatooing her of course!! We did some pretty wicked tatoos but sadly when she came to school today some were kinda wiped off. I had worked so hard on that barcode too.
I only did three, the barcode, a chain on her arm, and the flames on her arm. My other friend did her neck, the one on her lower arm, the japanese symbol, the I heart you on one ear, and stars on the other.
All in all it was a fun night.

Finally!

" Be your own fan first, before you are anyone elses. "
~ Sly fox ( StoryWrite Member )

OKay so remember how my sister got married back in the begging of July? I finally got the pictures off of my camera. The reason it took so long was because I lost the cable to connect my compy and camera but I got this cool gadget that lets me get my pictures. Wahoo!
so here are some of those pictures!

I still have no idea who did that to their car. *cough cough*

Anyway Halloween dance is a go. I asked... twice. THe first guy was already going and the second guy probably won't answer till the day before, oh joy.

A club constitution.

"If I only touch one heart in this life, then I have achieved my life's goal "
~ Heavenly Angel ( All Poetry Member )

I had to write a club constitution, I decided that I should not write when I'm tired.....

We the people of American Sign Language club, to form better conversational skills in sign language, will meet once a month, on Wednesdays, in the room of B2-23 to practice with others who wish to improve as well.
The members will fund some of the activities with the help of the school.
We the people also promise to obey all laws and bylaws presented and given to us by the school and administration.
We will also give service that is not beneficial to one person only, but to a group that is truly in need.

"Chaos is the score upon which reality is written."
Henry Miller
Life is good? I say this because life is good but also really bad. If that makes any sense whatsoever.
It's good because I'm close to getting my 4.0 i've been dreaming of since freshmen year, friends no longer want to kill eachother and I went to two rocking, very different birthday parties over the weekend. Life is good no?
Then saturday morning I got a phone call,
"Hello?"
"Hey, did I wake you up?" (the time being 9:30ish)
"No, what's up?"
Silence..... at first I thought it was my phone being it's stupid self and losing the connection, then I heard the sniffs.
"Kay? Kay what's wrong?" I started to freak, Kay is not the person that falls apart easily.
"My grandpa, he's dead." At first I was relieved that she wasn't hurt or someone wasn't robbing her house.
For the next little bit I talked to her while she choked on tears. She was confused why she was crying because, believe me, we both knew it was better he died. That sounds harsh but he was abusive to his wife and he was a drunk, so much so that he had boils all over his body from drinking or something like that. So we talked it over a little bit and she wanted to get ready for the day so we hung up.
A few hours later I went to the local Wal-Mart, my mother had a gift card and I had no cash, so I could buy her something to cheer her up. I found a cute lovable pig that was soft and easy to squeeze, perfect. So I took it over to her and spent some time talking about other things to take her mind off of the death. (oh we named the pig Sir Plushie).
Anyway that's basically it for now

Homecoming

Well it's been a year since my first dance... to bad I didn't go this year. I was the only one out of the group of my four closest friends who didn't and one of three of the larger group.
Our football team sucks again. No point denying it. We just do. We lost 34 t0 7 or something like that. at least in the "non school related" powderpuff game we kicked their girl team's butt.
I've had more drama in the past month of school than my whole high school career combined. But I guess that's what happens when you get friends and they're all hard headed. Planning a theme for Halloween has been the main root of it.
First we decided on boardgame charaters, then clue. then Hols said that would be to expensive... how you might ask? I don't know her cops and robbers idea is more expensive.
Then the idea to be disney princesses was thrown in, no not enough for our group of nine. Well how bout just princesses then? Once again Hols shot it down. We had it mostly planned too. I was to be the princess of Rome/Greece, Kay as the princess on night, Em as the princess of Day, Jan as the princess of Hell, didn't hear some others, and Hols as the princess of the Pirates because she didn't want to be all fluffy dress and whatever. But she shot it down with out a second thought and then claimed to be open minded about ideas.
I talked to Kay about it cause she was ticked about Hols, who wouldn't be?, and Kay went into this speach thing, okay not a speach but it got my vote. She talked about how she wasn't just thinking of her, but of me and Jan and Adrianne because it's our last year to do this and how she, Kay, didn't think that Hols remembers that. I have to agree, sometimes Hols gets a one way track of thinking and won't get off. But whatever.
I still like my idea of famous couples in history but no one else does.
My senior year is coming along great.

Drowning anyone?

"A clash of doctrines is not a disaster--it is an opportunity."
Alfred North Whitehead

So school started last week. I hadn't realized how much work I would have until the second day ( my school is set on a block system. periods 1,3,5,7 one day, periods2,4,6,8 the next).
Day one:
First period is no sweat, I TA for my favorite teacher, Miss B., who teaches ASL 2 that period.
Third period is my first hard class, Advanced Placement(AP) World History. I have to read a chapter from the text book every week, then read another book and fill out the 70 page packet that goes with it. Doesn't sound hard but it is.
Fifth i go back to ASL but this time for my own class, level 4. Yeah for being the only student in level 4! That's not going to be easy either, what with pass offs and reading another book due at the end of the term. But atleast I'm with level 3 and friends right? Plus it's fun when the teacher says you taught her.
Seventh so far is easy. It's metals and all we've done so far is go over saftey. Which is kinda disgusting but good to know.

Day two:
Second is an internship/TA for the main office. It's a little exta work for the internship but so worth it to be in there with Shelbs.
Fourth is another killer class, Arabic. Learning to recognize the sounds is hard but I think I'm getting the alphabet down. Now how to connect the letters together.....
Sixth is Creative writing, so far so easy but I know it's going to get harder. It's a college class in a high school setting, woot. Rutter's cool and everything but I think I'm going to die.
Eighth is AP psychology. It's the same as creative writing, easy so far but I know it's going to get harder. Atleast Kay is in there so I can keep some of my sanity. Well Holls is in there too so I should be good. I hope.

Semenary is easy and I love my teacher, he's the funniest I've had so far. But he know's when it's time to be serious. I absolutly love that........
9 classes, 5 that are going to drown me in work. This should be a fun year.

Shopping

"There are three rules for writing the novel. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are."
W. Somerset Maugham

So I went shopping with Ly, Jan, Adri, and Kay on Wensday. Suprisingly it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There were some small fights about what I would try on but other than that nothing major happened. I got some really cute shirts before Adri had to go. I dropped her off at my house so she could get her car, then Ly decided that she should probably go help her mom with stuff so Kay, Jan and I stayed and talked for a bit before Jan had to leave too.
It was down to me and Kay, which might not be the best thing for the rest of the population. We went to the mall and managed to find some cute slacks for me, after a lot of questions that I felt stupid for not knowing the answer too.
"What size are you?" "I don't know"
and more of the like. Poor Kay, I have no idea how she deals with me.
After that we went shopping for some stuff for her and then went to Red Robin for a late dinner, it being around 8 at this point. That was fun because we got to talk, which we were doing before but I felt like we were older and were old friends catching up, ya know. It felt more suffisticated(sp?) because we were talking over dinner in a kinda fancy resteraunt. Sounds stupid but whatever. Then we came back to my house and talked while playing cards.
I told her about my beserker story that I've had rolling around in my head for a while and she liked the sound of it. I just hope I can use it this year in creative writting. That should make Rutter think I'm even more weird.
Gotta blaze!

Bleh.

Bleh shopping. I went with my friend today to scope out clothes for next week when I actually have money to buy them. Ugh, five hours of shopping is not fun. I got bored half way through but I kept going because I need some new clothes. It was horrible. I never want to go for that long again, but I know when we go with Kay, it will.
BLEH!!

"There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot."
Steven Wright

I tip my hat to J.K Rowling. She ended it very well. Wished she hadn't killed that many people, or atleast not those people but meh.

Finished it at 2:12is this morning. The fastest I've read a book of that size, under twelved hours. Would have been shorter but I took breaks after the most dramatic parts( until that last two hundred pages of course).

It's finally over......

Transformers and Harry Potter

"Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again."
Franklin P. Jones
On the 5th of july my sunday school class had planned to go see Transformers for a class party, well they went and forgot me. Let me back up.
The sunday that we planned it I was very reluctant to go see Transformers. Yes I was into it as a kid but that was Beast Wars and I found the newer ones to be just dumb. Monday I told my friends and they were somewhat sympathetic. Then we got together again on wensday, The 4th of july, to do some fireworks. Kay and I were talking while watching the fireworks and she told me see had gone to see it that day, and really, really liked it. I was then really excited to go see it. Oh and when using fireworks that fire more that one firework, use a weight to hold it down. It is no fun to have fireworks coming straight at you.
Anyway so the next day I get all excited to go to see the movie and get all cute and whatnot. I go to the house where we're supposed to meet at the time I was told and no one was there. So I decide "maybe he's running an errand" so I walk around the block. Meeting a friend who offered me a job. Wahoo. Anyway so I finished walking around the block and went back to the house. My teacher's wife answered the door and said "Oh they left at 11:50." I was pissed off. Had they told me the wrong time intentially? Did they not want me to go? Grrrr.
Jan and Kay came over that night to do fireworks with my family. Cousin Kara also showed up and there was much hugging involved with that. My friends were super jumpy with the fireworks, which is understandable with what happened the night before. After fireworks Kay and Jan stayed and watched yet another episode of Dark Angel. It's so good to get friends addicted to the same stuff as you. :} then left.
Friday, I woke up to Kara giving me a hug, that was nice. I got dressed and Klah, Kara and I went to Ben's family's house to have makeovers. That was fun but interesting. There wasn't much small talk between the two familys but that's okay.
Anyway on the way back to the house I got a voicemail. this is how it went. " AAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAA" in a singsong voice, then laughing "my dad's yelling at me to stop, call me to see the movie." Oh how I love my friends.
I called Kay back and went to her house, then to Jan's to help her clean up sheetrock. I'm so glad that my family get's along. I don't think I could stand having a brother like Jan's. Then off to the movies it was! Did that sound Yodaish to anyone?
Transformers is soooo cool! There are gapping plot wholes and a scene where it goes from light to night really fast but otherwise it is a really good action movie...... I want to see it again.
Bacholerette party for Klah was interesting. Not sure I want one for my wedding.... Next day was the Wedding and Klah looked so beautiful and happy.
THe family party was fun as said before in previous post.
then yesterday, my life is really, really dull when friends are gone to girls camp, I went to see Harry Potter 5. It's good, but skips giant skips but what can you expect from a movie based on a book? THere were plot holes but if you've read the book you understood what was going on. Loved the fight between Lord Moldy and Dumbledore. It was full of interesting spells.
I think my out of the new characters my favorites were Luna and Tonks. Both done really well. Well I think tonks was done well she only had about 10 minutes total of screen time and that's being generous. But I really like the actress who played her. Luna's actress did a really good job of being far away and spacey.
Anyway sorry for the long post.

The summer

"You've achieved success in your field when you don't know whether what you're doing is work or play."--Warren Beatty

Things I've learned so far this summer:
1. IT IS NO FUN TO CRASH YOUR CAR!!!
2. True friends still love you after you almost kill them in said car crash
3. It sucks not having a car
4. Having family around is a blast
5. Sometimes it takes talking to a cousin to make you feel loved and you belong
6. Weddings are fun and horrible at the same time
7. Boys are way to confusing for my poor brain to handle
8. You're at someones house way to much when their parents start mixing you up with their children
9. Fireworks are fun
10, Some authors are just mean to their readers.

So June 13th I crashed my car. Almost flipped it, rear axle was misalligned(sp?), had a big dent in the side, her only mirror broke off, did something to the front. Wasn't worth repairing, she was going down hill anyway. I only got whiplash and bruises, my friends who were with me got some bruises too and that's it. I'll miss that car.

Klah got married today, that was fun. My family, well my dad's side of the family, decended in a swarm as we usually do. It's good to see cousins and aunts and uncles again. Bonds are so much fun to re-strengthen. Though I never want to cut another yam again.
It's good to have friends who will be dumb with you. Kay and I managed to get whipped cream from my cup cake all over eachother faces at the "after wedding party" tonight. Uncle took pictures of it and hopefully I'll get a copy. If I do I'll hide it away for a couple of years till one of us gets married and see if we do it again.
Klah's car somehow got decorated with oreos and window paint. Have no idea how that happened.
That's about it for now........................

Spring Break

So I've known that spring break has been around the corner for a long time now... Well at least since the beginning of March. So I thought to myself, "Self, you really need to get that space of yours clean so you can have a huge sleep over."
Now you have to understand when I say space I don't mean a little tiny room that can barely hold a twin size bed, I mean a huge room, scratch even that, I have a whole freaking floor to clean! My bedroom, bathroom, a huge area that could be classified as a living room/ family room, the area around the stairs and then another bedroom. Most of the stuff I have to clean is my stuff but some of it is from the previous occupant, my now engaged sister, Klah. And I have most of it done..... kinda.
I still have to clean the stairs area and the other bedroom, all before Wednesday of next week, when at least four people are coming over to have a sleep over...... Maybe five if Adri decides to come.
And I have no idea how long this sleep over is going to last, because Jan wants to have it as long as possible and so does Em because both don't want to be home during spring break. But I do know that Hol has other things to do with her family so that cuts down on one person and I don't know about Kay or Adri.... This should be so interesting when it actually happens.

Oh and I get to go Prom dress shopping on Friday, though I'm not going to Prom. Figure that one out if you can.

Mentaly, physicaly, and emotionaly tired

So this week was softball try outs. I only tried out this year because one of my friends is on the team and she thought it would be fun, and good for the team, for me to try out. I say good for the team because hardly any one tried out. So In January I started going to open gym so I could get to know the coaches and to get into some kind of shape. Anyway try outs came and I am so exhausted from them, not to metion sore. Anyway, thrusday we found out if we made it or not, needless to say I didn't make it. I was fine with it until I texted my mom and told her about it. She started to send texts that I think she thought would help me feel better, they didn't, it only made it worse.
I went through out the day trying not to cry about it because 1) I hate crying infront of people, 2) I hate crying infront of people and 3) I didn't want anyone to think it was a big deal that I didn't make it. Though I think Kay knew that it was but oh well.
That's pretty much why I'm tired physicaly and emotionaly. The reason for the mentaly is because I took the ACT on saturday. Four freakin hours of thinking!!!! But I did get a 23 and that's when I guessed on over half the science questions. So I figure it should go up two points when I actually care about the science part.
But afterward me and Jan where so out of it. And then we went to Kay's and that just made us even more laugh happy. I like having friends that I can do that with.
anyway got to blaze

A day of fun

I'm going to go from latest to farthest away in time, so it should make sense, or atleast to me it makes sense.
Today:
I went shopping with my mother, which I hate doing. No not being with my mother but the shopping part. Anyway, we went to this store that was selling matresses but they also sold little cute things. One of these cute items was a Puppy ontop of a block that said "Beware of Killer Dog" or something to that effect. But the cute thing was that the puppy was a cute one and not a scary looking one. I instantly thought of Kate and her new puppy Maddie. Maddie being so small and everything. So I bought it and was going to give it to her ealier tonight but then I realized she didn't get home from work until around 7:00 and then she most likely would have FHE.
So I forgot about it until I was IMing her tonight. Here is some of our conversation:
Kate: PRACTICE!!! DO YOU WANT THAT PUP?!
Me: Yes...
Me: Oh speaking of that
Me:I have something for you
Me:But I'm to lazy to drive over there right now. (Kate lives a mile away from me)
Kate:you can't just do that!!!
Me: And I'm sure your mom doesnt' want another visit from me at this time of night (9:30)
Me: I can and I did!!
Kate: She isn't here...
Blah blah her trying to get me to come over....
Kate: Is it a paper?
Me: No
Kate: Oh... M&Ms?
Me:no
Kate:WHAT THE?!?!?
Kate: YOu have to bring it over now!!!
Me: But it's like 9:30!
Kate: Hurry fast?
blahh blah more banter and I finally decided to go.
I run out the door because I want to be home by ten, the only thing is I forgot my jacket. My car heater doesn't work to well and it's below 10 degrees tonight. Smart I know.
Anyway I get to her house and she opens the door and puts her finger up to her lips, telling me to be quiet.
So I sign to her, " You're going to think I'm dumb but I thought it was cute."
She gives me a look like, "What the crap did you get?" She opens it and she really likes it. Or atleast I think she does. Her sister comes up the stairs and gives me a strange look( Kenz goes to my school so I see her sometimes and I think she thinks its weird that I'm friends with her sister who graduated last year) but talks to be about Arabic club quickly before I leave. As I run to my car as to get home faster to defrost Kate's garage door closes. Just missed the parents coming home.

Today at lunch my stomache had a great work out. Nat, Lena, Kandy, and Carrie were sitting at the usual table with Ben. Now all the girls know sign language so I thought I'd be funny. Ben's back was to me so I come up behind him and start signing using his head, but not really so he won't know what I was doing. I sign, "I'm a stupid boy, I don't know anything. I'm stupid because I'm a boy."
The girls crack up laughing and poor Ben had no idea what was going on. I do it a couple of more times and he finally catches on and moves to the other side of the table, still not knowing what I said. Later someone says something about boys not knowing anything so I pipe up and say, "Boys are stupid and don't know anything." the girls cracked up again and Ben gave a bewildered look. I so enjoy making fun of boys.

Later I walked up to Kay and was about to talk to her when I hear her say that she almost had a panic attack when she thought that Kandy was graduating this year, Kandy isn't she has one more year to go. I said Kandy might not be graduating but I am. Kay didn't buy it at first but then I turned to Kandy and asked her if I was graduating, trying to give her a clue to say yes. She picked up on it and said yes. Poor Kay thought it was true and gave me a long hug, after she pulled back she said something to the effect of "Life will be so boring without you!" I then told her that I too had another year. She hit my arm and told me never to pull something like that again.

All in all it was a good day sorry it was so long again. Gotta Blaze!

Christmas Party and Christmas

The Saturday before Christmas I had a party. A very hastily thrown together party. Guests where told about a week before, some three days before, oops. Any way I cleaned my room, or floor as to clarify that I have a whole level to myself, cleaned the living room and waited for the guests to arrive. It started at noon and I was ready at eleven. Why wasn't anyone coming early? I had said noonish to everyone.... grrrrr.
So noon rolled around and Nat arrived. I eagerly opened the door and invited her in. When she saw my piano she instantly started to play, I had no idea she could play.
Thirty minutes went by and I got a phone call from Mitch asking me what my address was. I told her and was kinda confused, she'd been to my house before, why did she need the address, then Nat yelled to look for Mitch to look for her, Nat's, car. I relaid the message and hung up. A few minutes later Mitch had arrived.
Mitch came in gave Nat and me presents and we talked for a while. She then walked over to my piano and started to play, why did I not know that either of them could play? grrrrr.
My mom came out with food and drinks and I learned something about Mitch, never give her carbination unless you are ready for her to be really really hyper. Which she was for the next two hours. Em showed up sometime later and we played Settlers, which I've learned can be really hard to explain when two people are really hyper. But now we have something to say to eachother when we see eachother at school, "Baaa!" Don't ask unless you want to be really confused. We also made gram cracker houses which was tons of fun, though I think we did that before we played settlers because by then all of us were semi to really hyper of the sugar.
Mitch left because she had to go to work and I got a call from Kay asking me if the party was still going, I said yes and she replied that she'd be right over.
Nat also left because she had to go to her sister's birthday party thingy.
That left me and Em for a while, but then Kay showed up and that was good. We played four king stud, a fun game for girls, with some interesting results. We also lisnted to music from my Ipod and Spectacular came on from Moulin Rouge. They said they had never seen it so we trecked up stairs to my room and watched the scene of Spectacular. We also watched several other scenes and I'm sure they wanted to watch all of it but we didn't have the time, or so I thought.
We went back downstairs to have cake and sat around the table to talk. We talked about a lot of things and I have never seen Kay that riled up before.
We then returned to the living room and talked. Everyone had to leave at eight so that's when the party ended.
I was so drained afterwards, eight hours of being a hostess and being hyper, it was like girls camp all over again.
The only person who didn't come who was invited was Kate. Everytime the door bell rang I expected it to be her. But she had family obligations so it was okay. But she did come over the next day to give me my presant and we talked for a little bit. So it kinda made up for her not coming.
Two days later it was Christmas, sister's and brother came. Opened presants and played games. I had a really bad reaction to my hoodie being covered in cat hair and was out with a headache for most of the day. Around seven I went upstairs to take a shower and after that I ended up in bed asleep. didnt even get to say goodbye to k lah who went to Mexico to build houses for a couple of weeks. I'm sure my brother made some comments about me not partisipating in the games but he always does, so I guess it shouldn't bother me.
Anyway sorry this post was so long
Gotta blaze.

I actually helped someone

Today I was on my way to math class, about two feet from the door actually, and I saw one of my friends down the hall so I yelled her name and waved. She waved back and I went into my class, sat ontop of my desk and started to read another friends paper. Next thing I knew the friend from the hall, I shall call her Kay for now, was standing in front of me. We exchange greetings and then she tells me something that I found really touching.
See Kay has a eating disorder, she doesn't like to eat, and she wants it kept on the DL so that's why I'm not using her name. Her family knows and she's getting professional help. But this is not the part that touched me. She started to talk about how she wanted to go back to her old way, throwing up food*, but then she thought "What would Kanani want me to do? What would she do?" And needless to say she stuck to her new plan of not throwing up. I gave her a huge hug and told her how proud I was of her.
We then talked a little bit about how the choir teacher is driving the kids in choir to exhaustion and I shooed her off to her class so she wouldn't be late.
I was very happy for most of the day because of that.

*This is what I gather is happening, I don't really know though because she hasn't come out right and told me. So I might be wrong.

Sick again?!!

So here I was going through life, everything was great. Then I got sick. Four tissue boxs and a toliet paper roll later I'm still sick. And I've found out one thing, the only thing worst than not being able to breath is how raw my nose is from all the rubbing, even with the tissues with the lotion in them. Not fun at all.
Good news is that I got to stay home from school friday, and from church today. Bad news is that I have a paper to write still for english, and a test I have to make up in chemestry. Oh joy.
For give the randomness but I'm going to jump around topics right now.
So Thursday I was have really bad pains in my abdomen area, not cramps but pains. During asl is when it hurt the most. I was trying to cover up the pain but once again Michelle read me too well. She asked I expained and she kept looking at me funny, well not funny but intesly because she was trying to figure out what was wrong with me. See she's studying to be a nurse. Anyway she was about to tell me what she thought was wrong but Natalie interupted her so she signed to Natalie for a bit got my attention, said I was going to die and continued her conversation with Nat.
I sat there shocked for a moment trying to figure out if she was kidding or not. Then she turned back to me and told me to push on the right side of my stomache area. I did and she asked if that hurt, I said no and she said that it wasn't my apendix.
I was releaved. But I thought it was funny.
A couple of days ago I asked this one guy to the Christmas dance and he replied last night saying he couldn't go. This is my first rejection for a date.... sad huh?
Well later dayz!

Gone With The Wind

THAT MOVIE HAS THE MOST STUPIDIST ENDING EVER!!! I watched it for the first time today because of a History assignment and that's all I have to say.
You're husband just left you because you've just realized after upteen years of being in "love" with a married guy you don't really love him and all you can say is Tomorrow is another day??!!! What kinda of messed up writer would even end with that line anyway? End at that point in the story? I need closure! Something that tells me that Scarlett and Rhett get back together. There's a baby involved man!!! Well maybe, I couldn't tell if the baby lived through the fall or not.
But Rhett has to be the stupidest guy on the planet! One for marriing Scarlett and two for leaving her!! I mean you could totally tell by the look on her face several times that she was really in love with the man. Plus she goes running after him to tell him that she really loves him and not Ashley. And she does it after running through the fog, which she dreamed and she found Rhett!( which sounds like it, which is what she was looking for in her dream. Rhett and it sound sorta the same! Rhett, it.... got it?)
And he still leaves her because he's egotistical and is like You still love Ashley and I'm finished in trying to win you're affection. Kay point one: She JUST told you she loves you and not Ashley!! Hello that's what that whole scene we just watched was about!! Second point: You have her affection!! Come on man!! You had a daughter with her and were going to have a second child!!! You have her affection!!! Plus she just told you she loved you!!
Can you tell I'm a little involved with the story?
Conversation between me and my friend.
Me talking about going in during lunch next friday to watch last of the movie in history: We should go in just for the ending and then say something about how STUPID that ending was.
Friend: Yeah that was the stupidest thing ever!
Me: No wait there was that one movie... No, no. Gone with the wind was worse!
Friend: How bout that one movie.. No you're right Gone With The Wind was way worse!
Me: I know one movie that had a worse ending! Gone With The Wind! Oh wait, that's what we're talking about!!!

So now a few hours later, I can't get Gone With The Wind out of my head. Closure is very much needed in my brain. Just to make my brain get to better things like, when the crap will Luke and Mara Jade get past their stupid, I hate her, I hate him thing and get freakin *married?!!!
Okay so maybe that isn't better but whatever. Closure is needed on both subjects! And on the Josh thing but I'm not telling about that one!

*Note: Yes, I know they get married and even have a son together but I haven't gotten that far in the books

Guess that sport!!

Alright I'm going to list off injuries that were recieved tonight and see if you can guess what team sport it is!
A split eyebrow
Choking(happened to me)
hair pulling(also happened to me)
Bashed heads
Hurt... um... womenhood.
Kicked shins
Jaws were popped
Arms almost snapped
Chins elbowed
And a whole lot of other BS out there.
Now guess what sport this was.....
Can't? To tough?
Let me tell ya then. Flag football. Now let me put stress on one word, FLAG. Meaning no tackling, no contact.
Tell that to the pissed off seniors. So every year the junior girls play against the senior girls. Seniors always win, they think it's their right ya know? Well not this year! We had the best team. We scored three times in the first half( we had two halfs, 20 minutes each) and boy did the seniors get mad. They started to throw elbows, knees, punches, anything to stop us. Well they didn't. They did score, once. But that didn't phase us we just did our best, played clean and beat the crap out o em!!!!
As the Juniors did a victory lap we looked at the score board and were shocked!( not really but whatever) The seniors rigged it so it said Juniors 26 Seniors 49! Iike they could have gotten that high if they wanted to! The real score? 26-6.
They're just poor sports.
Oh and the girl that choked me? The first time she caught me off guard, the second I put my head down so she couldn't get my neck. So what does she next? Pull my hair!!! So I go after her.
She yelled "What are you doing?"
I yelled "What ever happened to playing clean?'
"I'm a senior! I can do what ever I want!!"
Yeah and lose!! I didn't say that but I sure wanted to.
Anyway so she comes at me the third time and pulles my hair again, I go after her and tackle her... mwhahahahaha!!!
That is my story for tonight.

Today I went to the store to get more rassberries because I found out in foods I really like them. Anyway, as I was walking to my car the car next to mine pulled out and then pulled back in. I found it a little strange so I glanced that way, and a was shocked!! Micah's little brother had guided the car in and his mom was in the driver's seat. I quickly scanned the car but didn't see him. Now the only reason I got excited is because I want to run an experiment. I haven't seen Micah for a while and after what I think happened I don't think I will again. I really want to know if I'm over him, I thought that I was and then EFY happened. So I really just want it over with.
The second reason I went to the store is so I see my friend that worked there. That failed, I didn't see her. I really wanted to thank her in person for the advice she gave me last night over IM. And to asure her I don't dwell on all the negative in my life... most of the time.
Oh guess who's against me again. Come on guess, I'm sure you can get it. Come on it's really easy to answer.
Yep that's right the world. Very early this morning, around 6:45, I went down my stairs, in a really painful way. I guess that I slipped on some swimming shorts and then procceded to land on my bum and bounce down that way. Did I also mention somehow I hurt the sole of my right foot? Oh that's another thing, everyone likes hurting the right side of my body. Guess what butt check I landed on. Yep that's right, the right.

Uggg.

Ain't it funny how you can watch a movie when you're younger and hate it, but when you're older you like it?
It hasn't been but two years since I first saw the commercials for a movie series, I'm not going to say which one cause you'll think I'm dorky, and I thought it looked like the stupidest, mushiest thing alive. Then tonight I got pulled into watching all three movies in the series so far and found them absolutly cute, though it did bug me that between the second and the third they switched the actress that plays Misty... but oh well.
So I've decided that the world's against me again. Yesterday I went to softball open field cause my friend wants me to try out again this year, and things went great until that is I got hit in the leg with a softball, that's really hard, going about 60+ mph. It didn't hurt to much at first but after a while the pain set in. Then I caught the ball goin about the same speed with my ungloved hand, and jammed my finger on a bounce ball. I had to go to work and that didn't help the swellin to much, now I've go this nasty bruise where I got hit. Oh and did I mention I'm having major cramps due to me being a girl?
Life is wonderfull. cough++ (I don't expect anyone to get that cough except thoughs in my ASL class)

more pain

the blister popped, poured vinager over it to disinfect it... more pain.
And now when ever I accedently touch it, you guessed it more pain.
Good news? My thumb stopped throbbing, and now just has an ugly bruse....
Bad news? I am never ever going to find love... or atleast I won't try and find it. Go watch Moulin Rouge you'll understand, things just turn out badly.
But that is a great movie to get you laughing, the first part anyway. I swear the writer/director was on drugs.

This stinks

Pain, so much pain!
First I burn myself with liquid sugar that is over 250 degrees hot, then I go and play vollyball and do something to the first joint in my thumb. which has started to throb.... Did I mention that the sugar was really really hot and caused a really big second degree burn on my left index finger? Which also throbs every once in a while...
I don't need to turn to cutting* the world does it for me already!!
The ice doesn't help matter much either..

*I wold never cut myself intentionaly.. Never have thought of doing it either. It just seemed like a funny comment.

It's kinda funny when...

It's kinda funny when you freak people out, well not really freak em out but make em wonder if you've snapped and gone all depressed.
I just had an emotional break-down in ASL 3 the other day.
Let me give you the reasons: 1) My art teacher is being an idiot and causing me to overstress on my concentration projects, 2) my mother is putting stress on me to quit work, 3) work, 4) I had to go to a friends suprise birthday party right after work, I mean right after work, 5) I had a headache from the moment I woke up that morning, and 6) did I mention art?
So this is what happened, I went to school, had math and chemestry then went to ASL had a test, which also stressed me out because I think I should have gotten a zero on the signing part but my teacher gave me a perfect score, after the test I sat on the desk behind me and put my head on my knees, thinking it would help with my headache. Then a little voice in my head started to think about art, and telling me that I suck at it and that I should reconsider my choice of being an artist because no one would buy my work, and I started to cry. NOT racking sobs so everyone would know but those tears that come of their own accord. My wonderful friend Michelle noticed and got my attention and asked me what was wrong, I of course hating to cry in front of people said I was fine and put my head back down. She didn't bug me again but started to rub my back, which helped me a lot. Then miss B. said we had to watch a video or work on our story we have to sign for the end of the year, I watched the video because I could hide my tears if I started crying again.
Michelle started talking to miss B. and I didn't want my pickles, long story I'll tell later if peoplez remind me, so I tossed them on to her desk, the one infront of mine. When she got done talking to miss B. she noticed the pickles on her desk and turned to me and said, signed, said oh whatever, "Now I know there's something wrong, you don't want pickles!" I replied that I was fine and she just rolled her eyes.
How gald I am for friends and Ipods, I walked around the school for most of lunch listening to music and would periodically go back to the commons to get more of my lunch, I would pass Michelle and she would sign something like Love ya, or are you ok? My other friends would also ask if I was ok. I told em I was fine, though I wasn't, but it's nice to know you're love, ya know?
Oh then I passed this guy that I think I might have a crush on, I kinda scowled past him and walked past while he looked suprised and I think worriedly at me. I don't know I didn't stay around long enough to really tell. That was school.
After I went home and slept, skipped work, now I think they think I'm going to quit but oh well. I did go to my friends party and I'm glad I did. I got to see some long time friends that have moved. How I miss them....
Sorry this post is so long again.
Thanks once again Michelle, you really helped.
Gotta blaze.

Homecoming

So last week was Homecoming. I was super stoked for it, my co-worker can testify to that. I started counting down the weeks two months before the dance. Anyway I was getting really depressed because it was a week before the dance and still no guy had asked me! I had even started planing a pitty party for that night.
Then a week before the dance my Mom gets a phone call. This is pretty much all I could hear.
Boy:Gurgle gurgle
Mom: Yes this is she
Boy: Gurgle gurgle Kanani
Mom: Yes... How do you know this person?
By this point my sister and I are looking at each other trying to find out if my Mom has a stalker or if it's really about me.
Then my mom gets out of the car and walks around the house so we can't listen in any more.
K lah then starts freaking out because she's figured out that it's probably a guy asking if it's okay to take me to Homecoming. There is much celebration on my part. For the next day I watch my house like a hawk to see if he drops anything asking me to Homecoming.... nothing.
Monday comes and I go to earlymorning semenary. I barely sit down in my seat when my friend comes in with some balloons and a piece of paper, she smiles then leaves. I look at the paper and it says this: "I would explode with joy if you went to Homecoming with me."
I am super stoked for the rest of the day.
After school I go to the bakery where I work and get doughnuts to reply to my date. My co-workers see me and ask what am I doing. I tell and one wants to do my hair and makeup. I agree and then I leave.
The next day I go into his semenary class and drop off the doughnuts with a note saying: "When going to Homecoming with you is such a treat, my only answer can be yes."
I think this gave him the wrong impression. He calls me that night to get to know me before our date. He has to go so he hangs up. Two minutes later he calls back, I don't answer. That's mean I know but I didn't know what to do. The next day he repeats this. And the next day too. Pretty much up till Saturday he called me.
Anyway, Friday my co-worker comes over to play with my hair so she'll know what to expect the next day. She plucked my eyebrows too. Do you know how much that hurts?!
Anyway next day, I get earings from my neighbor, go shoe shopping and go to the bakery to get my co-worker who is utterly confuesed as how to get to my house... Mwhahahaha.
She does my hair beautifuly in thirty minutes and then leaves my house. My sister does my makeup. I call the friend that I got the earings from because I forgot to get the matching necklace. She doesn't answer so I go upstairs to play BattleGrounds, I have plenty of time right?
I finish kicking some Empire butt so I decided to call her again, on the way to the phone I see her and my other friend coming so I open the door for them. Both of their jaws dropped upoun seeing me. They rave at how cute I look and then we start to freak out, well I did, a the realization that I only have thirty minutes to get into my dress paint my nails so they match my dress and have time to breath before my date gets there.
So we finish with plenty of time, around ten minutes, so I go downstairs to show my dad the finished product and all of a sudden I hear "KANANI! HE'S HERE!" I freak out and run upstairs, meeting my two friends in the hall so I won't be in the room when he comes in. My mom calls for me when he's in the main living room so I walk out. "Wow" no kidding that's the first thing he said to me, Wow. I can totally hear my friends in the hall and look over my shoulder and see them poking their heads around the corner, I roll my eyes and pin the botanier(sp?) thingy on him and leave. We get into his sister's convertable and drive off, with my friends waving frantikly at me from the window.
Very little small talk in the car and we arrive at the resteraunt. Waiting for us was our group, full of people I have prior issues with. We make it through dinner and go to the dance. Which was fun except for the fact that my date didn't talk to me very much but apparently he had a magical time, according to what he told his semenary class the next day.
I got the account three times seeing as I have three friends in his class.
It was fun but not magical.
Sorry this post is so long.
Laterz, gotta blaze.
